Bio
Michael Cordell is a metal sculptor native to Boise. He studied art and photography at Golden West College, The San Francisco Art Institute, and Boise State University. He has attended workshops through Friends of Photography, Anderson Ranch and Fotofest International. Cordell has participated in most of the Boise Art Museum’s Idaho Triennial exhibitions over the last thirty years. He is the recipient of several Jurors Awards of Distinction from the Boise Art Museum. He has also received numerous grants including a Fellowship from the Idaho Commission on the Arts and a Boise Weekly PJ Dean Grant. He is the winner of the Boise Weekly Sculpture Competition. He has completed multiple commissions and public works including several for the St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center, “Art for Healing” program.
