  About the Exhibition

  New work by Amy Westover, marks the inaugural solo exhibit for celebrated Boise artist. Though best known for her large-scale public artworks, Westover has produced extensive bodies of work in a broad scope of mediums. Westover’s work has been shown in numerous exhibits throughout Boise, including the Idaho Triennial, in which she won a jurors award. Admit One Human will feature installation, mixed media free standing sculptures, wall sculptures and works on paper. Thematically, Westover has taken the roller coaster as a point of departure for exploring concepts such as alchemy and chaos theory through the portrayal of abstracted interior and exterior spaces. Westover has often executed her printmaking in an abstract expressionistic style. While this aesthetic is still present, her work has evolved into a sort of record keeping of forms and shapes that emerge from within the print. Although they are finished artworks, Westover thinks of these as refined sketches for future three-dimensional works.
